On behalf of the State Executive Council, we would like to encourage you and congratulate you for considering running for an office at the area or state level. Serving as an officer is a twelve-month commitment to Texas HOSA. It is essential that members seeking an area and state officer position are willing to commit the time to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of the office. Here are some tips to help you along the way. Area and State officers: 1. Try to attend your area fall conference and ask any of your area or state 2. Take the officer exam which is given during the week of online testing. The exam consist of : HOSA History Parliamentary Procedures HOSA Bylaws Officer duties 3. Pass the exam with at least a 70. 4. Summit the sign forms, a resume, two letters of recommendation (one 5. See your own area for deadlines submission. 6. Attend credentialing at your area spring conferences. Other tips: It’s never too early to start to study and practice to run (it will calm your nerves). Don’t forget the deadlines. Arrive at the hotel for credentialing at least 15 minutes early. Get a good night’s sleep the night before. Most importantly, relax and have fun. Take a deep breath during your interview and speech. We don’t bite! We look forward to seeing you at credentialing. |
