Meet the President

Greeting HOSA members!

My name is Stephanie Philip, Texas State HOSA President.  I am a senior at Hightower High School in Houston, Texas.  I have been in HOSA since my freshman year and compete in Biomedical Debate.  In my school, I also participate in various extra-curricular activities such as speech and debate, South Asian Cultural Association, Red Cross, decathlon, and many other clubs. Out of all of them however, HOSA has been the most rewarding in helping me achieve my future career goals.  In the future I hope to attend Penn State University in pursuit of their six-year direct medical program.  Through this program, I plan to become a pediatric surgeon. HOSA has provided me with opportunities I never thought imaginable. Clinical and volunteer experience available through my school’s HOSA chapters has strengthened my love of medicine to solidify my goals in the healthcare field. The leadership experience of being a local and state officer has provided me with understanding and abilities to move forward in my life with strength, determination, and confidence.  HOSA is something great and amazing.  As HOSA members, we are given the responsibility of always striving to improve HOSA in any way possible.  I hope that each of you take up that responsibility because as we make HOSA better, we also make the future of healthcare better for everyone.
