Make a Difference Day

Make A Difference Day is an annual event dedicated to helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Individuals and groups are encouraged to carry out volunteer projects that make a difference in their communities. Projects can be as ambitious as collecting truckloads of clothing for the homeless, or as personal as spending an afternoon helping an elderly neighbor. Each year in April, hundreds of good deeds done on Make A Difference Day are selected for articles in USA WEEKEND Magazine, and ten selected projects will receive $10,000 grants provided by Paul Newman. The 2007 Make A Difference Day is Saturday, October 27.

Visit the web site for information on how to participate.

The web site contains numerous USA WEEKEND designed planning guides to plan a Make A Difference Project.  The web site also provides a data base of projects to be conducted across the country.  Please let us know if one or more of your programs register a project for October 27, 2007 Make A Difference Day.
